How do I add money to a Hoot Loot account?
The easiest way to add money to a Hoot Loot account is online. Use our secure form to add money with credit card or check from any computer!
Can excess financial aid or loans be used towards Hoot Loot?
Yes. Most forms of excess financial aid, loans and scholarships can be added by students to their Hoot Loot account. Click here to learn more about this process.
Where is Hoot Loot accepted?
Hoot Loot is accepted throughout campus, including the SCSU Bookstore, and more than 30 off-campus vendors.

What is the difference between Food Loot and Hoot Loot?
Food Loot is part of a student's meal plan and can only be used for purchases at on campus food service locations. Hoot Loot is a campus debit account that can be used on and off campus. Click here to learn more about Food Loot.

Can Hoot Loot be used to purchase textbooks and supplies?
Yes. The SCSU Bookstore accepts Hoot Loot and it can be used to purchase textbooks, supplies, snacks and essentials.

How can I check my Hoot Loot card balance?
Each time you make a purchase your remaining balance is printed on your receipt. You can also check your balance by swiping your card at any campus vending machine. MyCard Online also allows students to log in and review their account history and current balance for Food Loot, Hoot Loot and other meal plan tenders.

We are excited to welcome you to Southern Connecticut State University and introduce you to the University Card Office, your Hoot Loot headquarters. The SCSU Hoot Loot ID Card is one card with many options. The card not only functions as a student ID, but it can also function as a campus debit card, library card and provide access to campus buildings, computer labs and printers, laundry services, meal plans and can even be a student discount card.

STUDENT IDENTIFICATION CARD
SCSU Hoot Loot ID CardThe SCSU Hoot Loot ID Card features students' eight-digit identification number. The student ID number (also referred to as a Banner ID number) is printed in red on the front of the SCSU Hoot Loot ID Card. An ID number is required to access SCSU's online web services as well as other campus services.

BUILDING ACCESS
West Campus Resident Complex
Access to residence halls on campus and selected campus resources are restricted to authorized cardholders. Students living on campus must use their SCSU Hoot Loot ID Card to gain entry to their designated residence. Also, access to some computer labs and academic areas are restricted to SCSU Hoot Loot ID cardholders, and current students and employees must use their card to gain access to these areas.

CAMPUS DEBIT CARD
SCSU BookstoreThe SCSU Hoot Loot Card can also function as
an optional campus pre-paid debit card. This
allows you to make purchases at a variety of
locations on and around SCSU’s campus. You
don’t have to worry about credit card interest or
charges, the possibility of overdrawing the account or carrying cash around campus. There
are no fees for the Hoot Loot account and account balances will decline with each purchase you make. Your Hoot Loot debit account can be used year-round and your balance will carry over from year-to-year and is protected if reported lost or stolen.

MEAL PLAN
Adanti Student CenterStudents participating in a meal plan use their SCSU Hoot Loot ID Card to make purchases from on-campus food services. The card is used to debit meals or meal money (Food Loot) at Connecticut Dining Hall, Adanti Student Center Food Court, campus convenience stores and coffee shops (including Dunkin' Donuts).

LIBRARY CARD
SCSU Buley LibraryThe SCSU Hoot Loot ID Card functions as a student's library card at the Buley Library. Students must present their card in order to check out books and utilize library resources. The SCSU Hoot Loot ID Card is also required for printing out materials in the library and computer labs on campus. In addition, students wishing to make copies at self-service copiers can save 15% by using their SCSU Hoot Loot Card to pay for the copies.

COMPUTER LABS & PRINTING
computer labTo access campus computer labs students are required to use their SCSU Hoot Loot ID Card. Printing on campus also requires the use of the card. To learn more about printing, visit the Academic Computing web site.

 

CAMPUS LAUNDRY
laundry pileStudents living on campus use their SCSU Hoot Loot ID Card to wash and dry clothes using the washers and dryers located in each residence hall. The on-campus laundry machines only accept Hoot Loot payments.

 

STUDENT DISCOUNTS
SCSU Hoot Loot ID Card with Student AdvantageStudents can now access over 20,000 discounts, around the New Haven and throughout the United States by adding a Student Advantage membership to their SCSU Hoot Loot ID Card. With Student Advantage, Southern students save on the things they buy every day. Using the Hoot Loot ID Card with Student Advantage, student can get discounts on everything from school supplies to movie tickets and even save 15% on Amtrak and Greyhound fares.


MYCARD ONLINE
MyCard Online
MyCard Online allows SCSU Hoot Loot ID cardholders to access their account balance and history information. Users log in to MyCard Online using their MySCSU username and password. Once logged in users can view and print monthly transactions for all tenders (including Food Loot, Hoot Loot and other meal plan balances) associated with their Hoot Loot card.
